A crash involving multiple vehicles on the Cross Bronx Expressway has left three dead and at least five others injured this morning.

The incident occurred on the eastbound lanes, near Webster Avenue, around 5:45 a.m. According to WABC 7, "Two tractor-trailers and several cars were involved. One of the tractor-trailers pushed a car onto the guardrail, killing three men inside the car."

Two people were seriously injured and taken to St. Barnabas hospital while three others suffered minor injuries.

There are delays on the CBE as well as on the George Washington Bridge, which has delays of 80 to 115 minutes.

PIX 11 advises, "Trucks can take the Tappan Zee Bridge, other vehicles can cross on the Lincoln Tunnel to avoid the standstill traffic."
