A Queens woman was reunited with her young daughter early this morning after her car was stolen with the little girl still in the backseat.

According to the Daily News, the woman stopped to buy diapers at a bodega on East 108th Street at 49th Avenue in Corona at 12:30 a.m. and left her car unattended with its doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. When she walked back out of the store, the car was gone.

“She was saying, ‘Please, God, help me find my child,'” a witness told CBS News.

Police scoured the area and ultimately recovered the vehicle 10 blocks away at Corona Avenue and 98th Street. The search lasted 90 minutes and while one of the car's windows was broken, the little girl was ultimately unharmed.

Police believe the car, a rented blue Hyundai, was abandoned once the thief realized the young girl was inside. ABC 7 reports that the mother is not facing charges related to the incident. The carjacker is still at large.
