Two people were killed and at least 10 others were shot in separate incidents over the course of 12 bloody hours in NYC last night.

According to police, three people were shot at an apartment at East 232 Street in The Bronx around 1 a.m. this morning. A 17-year-old female was shot in the left foot, a 17-year-old male was shot in the right leg, and a second 17-year old male was shot in the torso. The female victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where she is in stable condition. Both male victims were taken to Montefiore Hospital, where the man shot in the torso died. Police add that a "person of interest" has been taken into custody, but the investigation is ongoing.

Then around 2 a.m., 26-year-old Donnell Smith was fatally shot in the head in front of Powell Street in Brooklyn. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. A woman was shot in Brooklyn on Cook Street at 3:20 a.m., and a man was shot in the shoulder in Coney Island.

Two men, ages 26 and 20, were shot in the legs around 12:30 a.m. on 229th Street in The Bronx; both were taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition. Also in The Bronx: a 37-year-old man was shot in the leg on Beaumont Avenue near East 187th Street, and a 33-year-old man shot on East 233rd Street and Jerome Avenue.

A man was shot in the leg around 4:15 a.m. at East 139th Street and Alexander Avenue; and the evening of gun violence was capped off with a man being shot in the leg around 8:20 a.m. on Thomas S Boyland Street near Hegeman Avenue in Brooklyn. In all these last incidents, no arrests have been made and the investigations are ongoing.
