A 20-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger are dead after crashing on the Belt Parkway in Queens. An additional passenger, a 14-year-old boy, sustained two broken legs in the collision.

According to the NYPD, 20-year-old D'John Arias of Corona was driving westbound on the Belt Parkway near 181st Steet in a Mitsubishi sedan at around 10:45 p.m. yesterday when he lost control of his car. Cops say Arias was driving "at an apparent high rate of speed," and allegedly tried to pass another car, swerving into the Parkway's left lane.

Investigators say Arias was unable to control the vehicle, driving onto the parkway's shoulder and hitting a light pole and a tree. Cops responded to a 911 call and pronounced Arias dead at the scene; his front passenger, 19-year-old Jamaica resident Karim Carter, was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A third unidentified 14-year-old victim was transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital with injuries to both of his legs. He is listed in stable condition.
