A young woman died after she fell from an apartment in a building in Manhattan this morning.
According to the NYPD, the incident happened around 6:40 a.m. at a building on E. 29th Street between Lexington and Park Avenues in Kips Bay. Police say the 18-year-old woman fell from a window on the seventh floor, and was impaled on a fence; she was declared dead at the scene.
Cops say that "the circumstances around her death are unclear at this time," and could not say whether she jumped, was pushed or accidentally fell out the window. The investigation is ongoing.
In a separate incident also today, a 22-year-old man reportedly jumped from the rooftop of a six-story apartment building on Valentine Avenue in The Bronx. The Post reports that the man was taken to St. Barnabus Hospital in critical condition.
