A 14-year-old Bronx boy has been charged with murder and manslaughter after allegedly stabbing a classmate to death outside of a Bronx school yesterday afternoon. Police say Noel Estevez stabbed Timothy Crump, 14, multiple times in the stomach as they left the building at the end of school yesterday. Crump was pronounced dead at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

Police sources say Crump had previously robbed Estevez, and some students say Crump had bullied the other boy, whose mother had been arrested on drug charges last week. "Timothy is one of the kids that is constantly bullying Noel,” Estevez’s neighbor Stephany Arroyo tells the Daily News. "(He would say) things like, ‘Ha ha, your mom’s a crackhead, you’re stuttering, you don’t got no food stamps, you’re mom’s locked up.’ They (would) come on skateboards and sit in front of his building and scream up, ‘We’re going to get you!’ Every day they would come."

A parent of one of the students at the school also tells the News that Estevez has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and two weeks ago had tried to hang himself in his apartment, but was rescued by his father. Another family friend tells the Post that Estevez "was going through a lot of depression. Noel was bullied in school. He wouldn’t leave his house for three months. Yesterday was his first day back."

One student who knew both boys tells the News that Estevez "came out of school and Timothy just cracked him in the head and then kneed his face. Then Noel stabbed Timothy."

Crump's family friends and neighbors deny the bullying allegations. “Timothy is not that type of person,” neighbor Tyrone Rivers tells CBS 2. “He’s not a trouble maker. He’s not." In an interview with the News, Rivers said, "Noel wanted to be the center of attention. He wanted to make it look like he was the victim. He’d say, ‘I run this block, I’m going to get my gun and shoot you.’ I’ve seen him say it."

Following the fatal stabbing, a half dozen boys who said they were friends with Crump went to Estevez's house and banged on the door, declaring that they intended to kill him to avenge Crump's death.
