2006_04_syankeeslogo.jpgWas the first game of the season an aberration or are the Yankees simply a victim of superior pitching? Does Gary Sheffield need another visit from Barry Bonds’ trainer? These are the questions they face as they look at a 1-3 start after losing last night in Anaheim 4-1.

While it’s far too early to be worried, Joe Torre has already started to change things a little bit. Friday night he moved Bernie Williams into the ninth spot of the lineup while Robinson Cano took over the eighth spot. While the two went a combined 1-8, putting Cano ahead of Williams allows the Yankees to split up two of their lefties, Damon and Cano.

The Yankees will hope to reverse their fortunes tonight when Randy Johnson takes the mound. Johnson was impressive in the season opener and the Yankees will be counting on him to deliver the victory. If he doesn’t, should we expect another “missive” from the Boss?
