I moved to NYC recently and am an avid chess player. I'm looking to find some stores, games, fellow players, forums, anything and everything that might be available to me in the city. I see listings around, but many are for children only. Advice?

Greg, East Village

Chess in NYC, especially outdoor chess during the (few and far between) gorgeous weather seasons, abounds! Make a visit at Chess Forum on Thompson Street in the village, where you'll see many a chess board, player, and game. NYC has many clubs and stores dedicated to chess equipment and memorablilia. Dashing around to these will also give you a great opportunity to explore the city. Finally, go meet some chess players! Chess NYC has a listing of all the places where you can play chess in all the boroughs, including outdoor locales. Break a leg (or whatever chess players say...)!
