You have to make the most of your opportunities and Nate Robinson has certainly done that. With Steve Francis on the bench and a first quarter injury to Stephon Marbury, Robinson was called on to play big minutes and he responded with 34 points in the Knicks 117-112 loss.
Yes, they lost the game, but the time to pay attention to wins and losses has long since past. What is important is that we see something, anything that makes you think the Knicks have a future and while Nate probably won’t be a star he could be a productive player in this league, something the Knicks are sorely lacking.
Eddy Curry also had an encouraging game, scoring 21 points while pulling down nine rebounds. The pressure will really be on Curry to vindicate Isiah Thomas over the last eleven games because trading for him cost the Knicks their first round pick in this year’s draft. That pick could end up as the #1 overall in the draft, so Curry has that burden to live up to.
