Some of Ask Gothamist's favorite recommendations: seeing a movie at Rooftop Films in Brooklyn, swimming in the city's best public pool at the Carmine Street Recreation Center, and the best knockoff sunglasses in the city.
So what if you can't breathe on the subway platforms and your clothing sticks to you after five minutes outside?
