2006_02scarter.jpgAfter sleepwalking through the first half, the Nets woke up in time to beat New Orleans 99-91 at home Monday. They helped themselves with a 21-4 spurt that turned a 71-68 defecit after three quarters into an easy win at home. As has been the case when the Nets have played well, all three of their big names had big games. Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd all impressed.

For the Nets, the two best signs of late have been the improved play and health of Carter and their play at home. They've knocked off the Pistons in New Jeresy, and they've won 11 straight at home. Given their recent trend, it will behoove the Nets to play hard over the regular season's final two months. Clinching the division will leave them with a higher seed, but the records will determine home court advantage in the playoffs. Next to the NFL, playing at home is most important in the NBA. If the Nets want to win multiple series, Gothamist suggests they finish the regular season strong.
