Hopefully the Jets (9-4) will not be in a giving mood as they prepare to host Seattle in an inter-conference battle on Sunday at 1 p.m. (TV: FOX 5, RADIO: 1050AM ESPN). Quarterback Chad Pennington may not be at 100 percent, but this week he was steadfast in defending offensive coordinator Paul Hackett, as well as those of himself.
Mike Holmgren's Seahawks are an interesting bunch, considered by some to be a legitimate NFC title contender, especially in a "Terrell Owens-suddenly-gets-injured-and-the-Eagles-are-grounded-once-again" World. Seattle's defense has forced 32 takeaways on the season. At 7-6, the team is still in contention for a playoff spot (St. Louis is 5-0 in the NFC West Division, but 6-7 overall).
With only six 100-plus yard rushing games this season, Shaun Alexander has not fared as well against teams with decent run defenses, like the Jets, who Gothamist likes here, barely - 27-24.
