The NBA's Expansion Draft was held last night, so now Charlotte Bobcats have the beginnings of a roster. They chose a total of 19 players, but most of them will not be with the team on opening night next year. The Bobcats chose nine restricted free agents, which automatically turned them into unrestricted free agents, allowing those nine players to negotiate a new contract with any team in the league except for the team that left them unprotected in the draft. Tamar Slay; Photo:nba.comNets and Knicks fans can breathe easy, the only local product chosen was little used Tamar Slay from New Jersey. He is one of the nine unrestricted free agents mentioned above but don't be surprised to see him sign on in Charlotte with the promise of some playing time, something he never got in Jersey.

The NBA Draft will be held tomorrow night at 7PM at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. This figures to be a very interesting draft filled with trades and players switching teams. The Orlando Magic have the first pick in the draft but who they select will depend on if the rumored Tracy McGrady to Houston deal actually happens. No fewer than four teams in the top six picks are looking to trade their selections so expect a lot of action tomorrow night. The Nets and Knicks have already traded away both of their respective first round picks.
