2006_04_smetslogo.jpg-Mets 6 Toronto 1: Isn’t it weird that the Mets only trip to Canada is against a team from the American League? What isn’t weird is David Wright delivering another clutch hit; a three-run homer. While Albert Pujols will win it, Wright should be in consideration for NL MVP all the way to the end.

Tom Glavine rebounded from three tough starts to go seven innings and allow only one run while picking up his eleventh win of the year. Glavine is now only fourteen wins away from 300.

-Yankees 6 Marlins 5: It should have been a laugher, but the Yankees couldn’t put Florida away and Mariano Rivera had to come into another game. New York jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to three Florida errors and a wild pitch, but the Marlins fought back and A-Rod delivered the go-ahead run during a three-run fourth that almost wasn’t enough.

Kyle Farnsworth came into the game in the eighth and almost blew it, giving up three hits, but getting out of the inning on a strike out and a fly-out. Rivera came in to clinch the victory and the Yankees kept pace with Boston, two-games back.
