-Knicks 118 Memphis 117 (Triple OT): New York almost wrecked their season in the first game. After building an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter, the Knicks let it slip away and found themselves in a contest of endurance.
It wasn’t pretty most of the time, but the important thing is they found a way to win. Also important is that they won using only nine players (a rotation at last!) and with significant contributions from Eddy Curry and Quentin Richardson. Curry had 17 points and 14 rebounds while looking tough in the paint while Q contributed 31 on 10-12 shooting.
-Nets 102 Raptors 92: Vince Carter scored 25 against his former team while Jason Kidd recorded his 76th triple-double. Bostan Nachbar had a nice night off the bench with 14 points.
-Rangers 4, Ducks 3 (OT): New York shook things up on defense by sending Darius Kasparaitis on a conditioning assignment and using Karel Rachunek, but Kevin Weeks had a shaky second period to give up the lead. Petr Prucha tied the game early in the the third period and Jaromir Jagr won it in overtime with a beautiful one-timer off the feed from Michal Rozsival.
