  • Minnesota 6 Yankees 5: Before you scream that the Yankees would have won this game with Joba in the bullpen, consider some facts. The Yankees had leads of 2-0, 4-2 and 5-4 that Andy Pettitte could not protect. The Yankees had 15 hits and hit an abysmal 3-for-16 with runners in scoring position, failing to get a runner home from third with less than two outs three times. So, blame the offense, blame the pitching, but don’t cry for Joba.

However, Kyle Farnsworth is not helping this team and Joe Girardi needs to stop using him in important situations. 95-mph is meaningless if it is straight and the Yankees need to find a different answer for setting up Mo.

  • Giants 10 Mets 2: You could excuse the Mets’ players for being a little tired after their cross-country trip Monday morning, but the starting pitcher is usually flown ahead of the team. Maybe the Mets didn’t do that, maybe Oliver Perez just stinks, but he couldn’t get out of the first inning and dug the Mets into a 6-0 hole they couldn’t escape from.
