-Knicks 102 Washington 82: After nine games this much is clear, you don’t want to play the Knicks on Wednesday. New York recorded their third win of the season, all on Wednesday with a fairly easy victory. Surprisingly, the win was keyed by a great defensive effort as the Knicks held Washington to 31.5% from the field. Renaldo Balkman had a fantastic game, hustling all over the floor while scoring 18 points.
-Nets 100 Milwaukee 87: The nice thing about having three great players is that one of them can take over the game on any night. Wednesday it was Jason Kidd who scored 25 with 11 assists and just missed a triple-double with 8 rebounds.
-Carolina 2 Rangers 1: New York played for the second night in a row and battled with the defending champions. The Hurricanes won the game on a goal by Rod Brind’Amour in the third period.
-Islanders 3 Dallas 0: New York came away with an impressive road win, shutting out the Stars with a great effort from Rick DiPietro. DiPietro made 35 saves and the Islanders got the only goal they needed when Mike York scored off the power-play in the first period.
