-Knicks Sign Jared Jeffries: Stop the presses, the Knicks added someone who plays defense! Sure it comes too late for Larry Brown and five years and $30 million just increases their salary cap woes, but this is actually a decent move by Isiah. Jeffries gives them a big man who can guard someone, a rarity for this team and if used correctly, will help make Eddy Curry and Channing Frye more effective. Amazingly, this makes Jerome James even less useful.

-Preseason Injuries Plague The Local Football Teams: While it is still very early, some of the news out of Albany and Hempstead has been less than great. The Giants have lost Derrick Ward to a broken foot and Jeremy Shockey missed almost a week with a concussion. Meanwhile, Curtis Martin is still not cleared to practice for the Jets.
