  1. -Raptors 90, Nets 78: Each team played without a star, but only the Nets played without energy. They missed Richard Jefferson and also, it seems, the ability to defend Toronto's T.J. Ford, who helped his team overcome the loss of center Chris Bosh. Vince Carter was -- surprise! -- booed when he touched the ball. He probably didn't let it get to his head, but he still was held in check during a 12-point performance.

  2. -Pacers 112, Knicks 96: After allowing 42 points in the second quarter, the Knicks rolled over in the second half and fell on the road. Eddy Curry's 11-game streak of 20 or more points ended with a whimper; he had only 10 points in 27 minutes. He also didn't help on defense. Jermaine O'Neal scored 11 and Danny Granger dumped 25 in the blowout.

  3. -Penguins 7, Islanders 4: Getting into a high-scoring affair didn't work for the Islanders, probably because they didn't have Sidney Crosby. He had three assists and a goal for the Penguins. Rick DiPietro got yanked from the goal in favor of Mike Dunham.
