• Mets 9 Reds 7: Alex Gonzalez made a huge error that allowed the Mets to take the lead, but the bullpen almost coughed it up. Mike Pelfrey quickly coughed up a 2-0 lead, but the Mets rallied in the 5th to take the lead thanks to Gonzalez's error. They added 4 runs in the 7th to make it 9-4 and appeared to be cruising, but things got shaky from there. Cincinnati added two in the seventh and one in the eighth to make it 9-7. They then loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, thanks to a questionable call at first. But, Frankie Rodriguez managed to get the last two outs, the final one a deep shot to center and the Mets are 2-0.
  • Baltimore 7 Yankees 5: It had been ten months since Chien-Ming Wang pitched in a major-league game and it showed. Wang was awful, unable to keep his sinker down, and he got hit all over the ballpark. The Yankees’ offense didn’t wake up until the ninth inning when they made things interesting, but Hideki Matsui popped out to end the game.
  • Detroit 113 Knicks 86: New York left it all in the locker room, falling behind 10-0 right off the bat and by 21 points shortly thereafter. Detroit shot 54% from the field and outrebounded the Knicks 57-33. The Knicks have four games left to show they have a heart.
  • Boston 106 Nets 104: The Nets came very close to beating the best team in the division and keeping their fleeting playoff hopes alive, but it was not to be. After taking a 10-point lead after the first quarter, the Nets fell behind by halftime and could never recover. Vince Carter had 33 points in the loss.
