2006_11_snetslogo.jpg-Heat 113, Nets 106: The Nets couldn't hold a 10-point halftime lead, and they lost Richard Jefferson to a sprained ankle. Miami's recent success against the Nets should be unsettling. The Heat has won the last six meetings between the two clubs -- two this season and the last four of the playoffs in the spring. Vince Carter scored 33 points on an efficient night from the floor, but it was the Nets' defense that let them down.

-Rockets 103, Knicks 94: Steve Francis was denied a shot at playing in his return to Houston by a sprained left ankle, and Yao Ming torched Eddy Curry and the Knicks in another lackluster effort. Curry, who started off this season with promise, made just two of his 11 field goal attempts in 22 minutes. He's never been a good rebounder for his size, and despite Isiah Thomas's hopes he'll get better, it's not happening.

-Rangers 5, Thrashers 2: Teams that score 15 seconds into a game have a great shot at winning. Jaromir Jagr said Michael Nylander's early goal gave the Rangers "confidence." It also helped them to their fourth win in five games.
