  • Phillies 5, Mets 2: If his teammates are the pranking type, Oliver Perez might find a GPS device in his locker Thursday. The Mets left-hander walked seven -- he also hit a batter for good measure -- and couldn't get out of the third inning. Believe it or not, this is the sixth time Perez has walked this many batters. He only got charged with three runs, but the damage had been done. Perez's pitching aside, the Mets have to be irked they couldn't get more off Philadelphia starter Adam Eaton. The two teams will play a rubber game Thursday.

  • Twins 5, Yankees 1: This loss could be blamed on Kyle Farnsworth, who flamed out in the eighth inning, but the Yankees offense should take most of the culpability. It allowed Ramon Ortiz to look like Johan Santana by managing only one run in eight innings off the right-hander. Mike Mussina left this game with a hamstring injury in the third inning, leaving an already short-handed rotation even thinner. The Yankees are off Thursday before starting a series in Oakland on Friday.
