• Rangers 7 Atlanta 0: 5/8/1997, was almost ten years ago and it happens to be the last time the Rangers won a playoff game at home. Tuesday night’s win won’t erase a decade of futility, but it brought some pride back to the Garden. The Rangers came out with fire, scoring less than a minute into the game and building a 3-0 lead before the first period was over.

Michael Nylander had a hat trick and an assist, while Ryan Callahan had two goals and Henrik Lundqvist had 21 saves. Now, they need to complete the sweep tonight at the Garden.

  • Yankees 10 Indians 3: New York started Chase Wright who did his job, going five innings and gave his team a chance to win. Wright was rewarded with the win thanks to home runs from A-Rod, Posada and Mientkiewicz.
  • Mets 8 Phillies 1: Carlos Beltran had 2 hits and 2 steals while Tom Glavine gave up only a run to improve to 3-1. Jimmy Rolllins went 3-for-5, but his team dropped to 3-9.
