After weeks of heartbreaking losses, the Knicks are starting to turn it around. They won games with Philly and Indiana last week, and continued the streak with an OT victory against the LA Lakers last night at MSG. Despite blowing a 12-point lead in the final 2 minutes, the Knicks rallied and actually pulled one out at the end.
Tim Thomas led the charge with 35 points, and (perhaps for the only time this year) somehow justified his ridiculous salary. Michael Sweetney also took advantage of increased minutes due to the Mohammed trade by scoring 19 on 9-for-15 shooting. New Knicks acquisition Malik Rose played limited minutes with little result. As for the Lakers, Kobe "Hush Money" Bryant was top scorer with 30. He nailed a key shot to take the game into extra time, but couldn't get a shot off at the OT buzzer due to great Knicks defense.
