Do the Mets have bad luck, or do the Mets have bad luck? Victor Zambrano left last night's game with an inflamed elbow after only 1 2/3 innings. Since joining the Mets, Zambrano sprained his ankle in his first start and now this in his third start. Elbow pains from someone who was having the same issues before the trade to the Mets is not a good thing. Hindsight is 20/20, but if this worsens, the Mets could have made a huge mistake. Zambrano has already been scratched for his scheduled start on Sunday in San Francisco.

Doing their best to remain less than average, the Mets went on to lose, 6-4 (box score). After the 3rd inning, the Mets remained hitless and scoreless until the 9th when they scored an unearned run.

Zambrano joins a healthy list of injured Mets - Tom Glavine (teeth), Mike Piazza (knee), Jose Reyes (leg), and Kaz Matsui (back). No doubt, Mets fans are already looking at next year.
