2005_09_sgiantslogo.jpgIn the span of a few weeks the expectations for the Giants have shot through the roof. Fans have begun to dream about the playoffs and some have even speculated about an “all Manning” Super Bowl. Sunday’s game in San Francisco will tell us a lot about this Giants team.

Simply put the 49rs are a bad team. They allow the most points per game in the NFL at 31.7 while scoring only 15.9 per game. To make matters worse, they have lost their top two QB’s to injury (sound familiar Jets fans?) and will be forced to start Cody Pickett a QB who has thrown a grand total of 11 passes in his NFL career.

Clearly, all the ingredients are there for a big victory by the Giants. However, this will be a different game than the Giants have played this year. They have yet to go on the road as favorites and Eli Manning has never won a road game in his career. Regardless, these are the types of games that good teams find a way to win and while Gothamist doesn’t believe the Super Bowl hype, we think the Giants are a good team and will find a way to win, 24-21.
