You know that AARP commercial with the man that clones himself to help with household chores to the surprise of his wife? Well, if the Mets could do that with Pedro Martinez, they would be in good shape. It seems like every time they need a win, it's Pedro's turn to pitch and he comes through. Yesterday's game against the Braves was no different.

Entering the game, the Mets were 3-9 against the Braves this season, including losing two of three games in their four game series. Martinez, the most well rested All-Star, allowed only two hits in his 6 inning outing that the Mets won 8-1. It didn't hurt that Mike Cameron was 3-5 with 3 RBI and one home run in his return from the DL.

Just like before the break, the Mets are right at .500. After an off day Monday, they take on the National League teams from Southern California before heading on the road. No Pedro clones in sight.
