The best thing Isiah Thomas could do right now is put on a uniform. That would prevent him from making anymore dumb trades and give the Knicks the point guard they so desperately need. Saturday, the Knicks fell to the Hornets 109-98 with Stephon Marbury missing his third consecutive game.
With Marbury out and Antonio Davis suspended, Larry Brown tried a new starting lineup. Jamal Crawford and Quentin Richardson were in the backcourt with Maurice Taylor joining David Lee and Eddy Curry up front. Ultimately, Brown used eleven players, but he could not find the right combination and the Knicks were careless with the ball, ending up with more turnovers than assists.
The loss drops the Knicks to 13-26, worst in the Atlantic Division. Essentially halfway through the season, there is little to be optimistic about other than Channing Frye and the fact that Jim Dolan may turn his attention to music and let someone else run this team.
