Funkmaster FlexThe tabloids will jump at any chance to use the words bitch, whore, and slut (and so will Gothamist), so the legal case between Funkmaster Flex and DJ Steph Big Lova is almost the best kind of candy (better candy would be Kennedy-Cuomo candy) to the Post and Daily News. Funkmaster Flex and Steph Lova got into a fight outside Hot97, Flex's radio station, and Flex allegedly called Lova "broke-ass bitch," "ungrateful bitch," "stupid fucking bitch," "dumb bitch," "slut" and "whore." He also punched her and grabbed her neck, after she had interviewed Nas who alleged Flex and Hot 97 of "engaging in dirty politics" and accused Flex "of accepting bribes known as 'payola' to play certain songs on his shows." Steph Lova's $5 million suit against Flex included slander charges, as well as harrassment, but Judge Emily Goodman wrote, "Although the court does not approve of such statements allegedly used . . . The harrassment charges went forward, Flex was charged, then sentenced to 35 hours of community service, though still claiming he never hit Steph Lova. Gothamist is curious to see a smackdown of this kind in the blogging world, but realizes it would just be more of a flame war. Sigh...

This slang dictionary seems to agree with Judge Goodman: While derogatory, these words have also entered our common language and are even used as greetings - which for us is very true ("You're such an attention slut").
