We've got a few pairs of passes to give away to the following Tribeca Film Festival events, and we want to give them to you...
DOCUMENTARY
•Scott Walker: 30 Century Man is a documentary (with a blog) that explores the life, music and career of its subject. From bass player on the Sunset Strip, "to mega-stardom in Britain’s swinging 60’s pop scene as lead singer of The Walker Brothers, to his evolution into one of the most astonishing soundmakers of the last few decades."
Friends, fans and collaborators that help bring the doc to life include David Bowie, Radiohead, Jarvis Cocker, Brian Eno, Damon Albarn, Sting, Dot Allison, Simon Raymonde, Richard Hawley, Rob Ellis, Johnny Marr and many many more. Directed by Stephen Kijak, who brought us Cinemania (a profile of 5 of NYC's most manic film buffs) and made in collaboration with acclaimed director Grant Gee (”Radiohead: Meeting People is Easy”), this film is showing at the Tribeca Film Festival (May 2nd at 9:30pm).
We've got a few pairs of passes to give away, so if you want in, email us at GothamistContest (a) gmail dot com and tell us your favorite rock doc. Maybe you'll see Bowie there, he executive-produced it.
