2005_03_spierceloser.jpgWow! Two nights after beating the Spurs, the Knicks took it to the Boston Celtics with authority last night. The Celtics trash-talked through the first quarter, earning technical fouls along the way, and the Knicks responded with perhaps their best game of the season in a 107-82 demolition at the Garden. This is even more impressive when you know that Boston has an 11-1 (well, now 11-2) record since trading for Antoine Walker last month.

Tim Thomas aptly summed up the game in the NY Times: "It's not even MTV, and (they) got punked." While no fights erupted, the atmosphere was charged last night, but in the end, the Knicks ran up a lead early in the game and never relinquished it. Six Knicks finished in double figures. The team remains 3.5 games behind the also-victorious 76ers for the 8th playoff spot in the East.

In other NBA news: The Nets have won five in a row, and Don Nelson retires as coach of the Dallas Mavericks.
