This might be one of our favorite pre-fab "scandals" in a while. Lots o' papers are reporting, via the AP, that adoption advocates are in a huff over a toy-marketing campaign in which "girls browse through hospital-style nurseries to choose a lifelike doll to 'adopt.'"

At first the issue seemed forgettable to us. The haters claim that the practice of selling $100 dolls and calling it adoption is "insidiously offensive, stigmatizing and demeaning" and that it conveys a harmful notion (eh). And it still seems pretty silly, but after going to the website... ew. We dare you to go to the Newborn Nursery and not find yourself eerily entranced by "the Adoption Experience." And we thought that the American Girl trend was creepy.
