2006_04_syankeeslogo.jpgThe Yankees salvaged their weekend with a 9-3 victory over the Twins Sunday. Four home runs, two by Jason Giambi and one each from Robinson Cano and A-Rod powered New York. Chien-Ming Wang had his finest outing of the season, pitching seven strong innings for the win.

The Yankees continued their pattern of beating up on the opposition in games they win. Other than a two-run win over the Royals, their victories have all been by six runs or more. While scoring more runs is the point of baseball, New York has to figure out a way to even out their offensive distribution. The strangest part is that while they beat up on Barry Zito and Bartolo Colon, Scott Baker and Ervin Santana have handcuffed them.

The Yankees now head to Toronto for a two-game series. The Blue Jays spent a lot of money to upgrade their team in the off-season and many are predicting they will be a factor in the AL East. They took 2 out of 3 in Boston last week and should provide a good test.
