Sometimes we don't care much for year-end wrap-ups (even when we're guilty of them ourselves). But sometimes we really get a kick out of 'em. Especially when they're just numbers. So you can imagine the Post made us pretty happy this morning when we found their look at New York in 2005 by the numbers. A few choice digits:

7.34 million gallons of vodka consumed
34.3 million hot dogs sold, the most of any city in the world
497,490 people saw "Spamalot" on Broadway
520,000 people partied at Chelsea club Marquee
355 people got $600 haircuts at Sally Hershberger Downtown Salon
802 million miles driven by cabs
$8.80 average cab fare
60,000 Staten Island Ferry passengers daily
175,162 miles traveled by an average subway car
90 million bags used by Duane Reade
22,500 breast implants
8.1 million residents of New York City
692 hours the average time spent online per person

We're going to spend the rest of the day thinking about those 90 million bags...
