The Museum of Food and Drink doesn't even have a permanent home yet, but they're already putting on their first public exhibit tomorrow at the final Summer Streets! Swing by Foley Square between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to check out BOOM! The Puffing Gun and the Rise of Breakfast Cereal, the museum's inaugural exhibit, which chronicles the rise of the cereal industry and reveals the science behind making your cherished Cheerios.

Central to the exhibit is the museum's explosive cereal puffing gun, which transforms grains in their raw form and turns them into puffed bits. They'll be firing their puffing gun at regular intervals throughout their setup at Foley Square and serving up seasoned puffs from previous fires.

For a taste of what's in store, check out photos of the cannon being fired at MOFAD'S Puff Party, which celebrated the museum's successful Kickstarter campaign. Below, Food Network host Ted Allen takes a swing and explodes four pounds of corn. The result? Roasted popcorn.
