Today in Studies That Will Make You Feel Better About Your Drinking Habit, science says that drinking wine could help stop sunburn and possibly even skin cancer—so drink up, sun-worshippers!

A new study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Spanish scientists found that flavonoids in grapes used for wine can "stop the chemical reaction that causes cells to die and therefore skin damage." Biochemist Marta Cascante, the director of the research project, said the research could be used to help develop skin creams and other products to protect skin.

In semi-related news, wine is apparently now boozier than advertised, so consider this your official, medically sanctioned okay to pass out poolside after just one spritzer. For that extra golden glow, your attorney advises you to pour beer on your chest to facilitate the tanning process.
