We're back with another important piece of pasta news, this time out of SoHo, where chef Massimo Sola is opening Sola Pasta Bar on Wednesday. There are hundreds of people turning out pasta in NYC, but Sola was recently served up a best pasta dish in Manhattan award for the Quasi Carbonara he's making across the street at MAMO, so pasta completists take note.

"The chefs do the cooking and serving," Sola said in an opening announcement from the Times. The chefs will be using woks set over electric burners to make the pastas, which will come in flavors like fettuccine Bolognese and penne all’arrabbiata. It's unclear whether the Michelin-starred chef's Carbonara will be on the menu here, too.

"Sola Pasta Bar offers the furthest-ranging 'limited' lunch and dinner menus in Italian cuisine: insalata, antipasti and primi — to save room for dolci, there’s no need for secondi," according to the restaurant's website.

People wanting front row pasta access can take a seat at one of 16 seats at the kitchen counter itself.
