Power may still be out in Lower Manhattan post-Sandy, but there is good news if you want some relatively pricey fresh food in the area: the Union Square Whole Foods location is open for business (thanks to power generators). And that's not all! The Whole Foods Bowery location should be up and running tomorrow, company officials tell us.
According to reps from the supermarket chain, generators were delivered to the Bowery location earlier this afternoon. But because of clean up and set up efforts, the store likely won't be open to the public until tomorrow morning. For now the Bowery and Chelsea locations are the only Whole Foods still closed.
As for the hours for the Union Square location, the company is playing it by ear. "We may have to close early, our Upper West Side location is closing at 9 p.m. We want to make sure our team members can get home safely."
If you want to keep up-to-date with the supermarket's status, they recommend following their Twitter.
