Welcome to the...other...Johnsons. The dingy (but beloved!) LES dirty watering hole is opening up a slightly less grubby counterpart in, where else, Bushwick. According to Bedford + Bowery, this iteration will have a sheltered front patio, picnic tables and a takeout window for food, an element that is mercifully absent from the original. (I'm told that WTTJ's does serve some version of a ham sandwich, though I've certainly never seen anyone eat one. Come to think of it, I have never seen anyone consume anything within those blackened walls besides PBR and whiskey. As some guy on Facebook once said, "Beer can be food, but food can never be beer.")
The new location—called, simply, elegantly, Johnsons—will reportedly open at 369 Troutman Street by the end of the month!
