An apparently disgruntled former employee at an Italian restaurant in Red Hook decided to break into the restaurant and steal some cash—which he may have followed up with a celebratory tequila shot of seven.
The police released surveillance video taken at Caselnova (located at 215 Columbia Street) on July 9th. The break-in happened at 11 a.m.—the NYPD says that the suspect, 50-year-old Johnny Valentin, removed a window pane and then unlocked the front door to enter. "Once inside, the suspect removed a bottle of tequila and an undetermined amount of money."
Valentin is described as 5'9" and 180 pounds. Anyone with information in regards to this burglary is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
