The Park Slope Food Co-op has become even more of a punchline now that the Daily Show has aired its segment about the store's debate over whether to boycott Israeli products (there are only five, but they include hummus) because of Israel's actions against Palestinians. Jon Stewart introduced the footage, "Food shopping. Kind of a pain in the ass. Did you know there's a way to make it much, much worse?"

Samantha Bee spoke to both sides—Liz Roberts of Members for Boycott Divestments Sanctions, and Babara Mazor of More Hummus, Please—which resulted in hearing, "We believe that the food that we sell and the food that we eat and the food that we buy should not come at the expense of Palestinian human rights" and, referring to how the co-op boycotted South African products, "Everyone boycotted South Africa. Israel is different." Bee also went into the store, discovering things like how members who pay cash must check at at one register and then pay at another:

The vote over whether to ban Israeli products was last night and members voted, 1005-653, not to ban them. We'll have in-depth coverage of the epic vote later.
