There's a brick-wielding burglar roaming the West Village. Police say that one man is responsible for six burglaries at businesses—five restaurants and one clothing store were hit between November 12 and November 28.
In all six cases, the NYPD says that the suspect breaks the front glass door "by throwing a brick and forcing his way inside" when the businesses are closed. Here's a list:
Incident#1: (Mon) November 12, 2012 at 0900hrs inside of 15 7th Avenue South (Grand Sichuan Restaurant), suspect removed USC from the register and a container as well as a laptop computer and fled the location.
Incident#2: (Tue) November 20,2012 at 0053hrs inside of 47 8th Avenue (Barrio Restaurant), suspect removed USC from the register and fled the location in an unknown direction.
Incident#3: (Tue) November 20,2012 at 0100hrs inside of 17 Perry Street (Saturdays Surf NY), suspect removed USC and fled the location of foot.
Incident#4: (Tue) November 20,2012 at 0125hrs inside of 84 7th Avenue (Leyla Restaurant),suspect removed USC from the register and fled the location on foot.
Incident#5: (Sun) November 25,2012 at 2330hrs inside of 90 Bedford Street (Moustache Restaurant), suspect removed USC and fled the location on foot.
Incident#6 (Wed) November 28,2012 at 0125hrs inside of 189 West 10th Street (Diablo Royale Restaurant), suspect removed USC and three iPods and fled the location on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, around 225-275 pounds, who was last seen wearing light-colored clothing and carrying a bookbag.
