The old Whirlybird space on South 2nd Street in Williamsburg has been taken over by the unstoppable artisanal ice cream trailblazers Van Leeuwen. The cozy "pop-up," as it's being called, is peddling the familiar array of traditional and vegan ice cream scoops you know and love from their stores and trucks. But if you're not in the mood for ice cream (weirdo), they've also got Toby's estate coffee, Ovenly baked goods, a variety of cold drinks (including pura fruta cold pressed juices) and a "brand new" menu of special sundaes.

The Van Leeuwen crew says the location is only temporary, but co-founder Laura O'Neill adds that they'll be open for the whole summer and "maybe beyond." Right now they're open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to midnight. Scroll down for the address and menu.
