In honor of its 10th anniversary (time flies!), Van Leeuwen will be giving out free scoops from its signature yellow truck. The artisan ice cream shop, which got its start as a lone ice cream truck back in 2008, will be near Chelsea Market from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Union Square from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Brooklyn Bridge Park from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The truck will be offering free scoops of Vegan Passionfruit and Gianduja X, a chocolate-and-hazelnut base with a white chocolate swirl, candied hazelnuts, and chocolate chips.

But take note, today's special is limited to one free scoop per person. If you want more, you'll need some elaborate disguises, or join a scoop-sharing collective comprised of lactose-intolerant members.

Our second celebratory special flavor: Gianduja X ! 🎉🍫💯🍫🎉 Gianduja is a rich chocolate hazelnut ice cream of Italian origin and was a hit on our very first ice cream truck back in 2008. We’ve brought it back for our 10-year anniversary with some major upgrades 🙌 We doubled the amount of tonda la gentile hazelnut pieces sourced from the Piedmont region of Italy and added whole candied hazelnuts & Askinosie choc chips 🍫😋🍫 We’ve also added a swirl of housemade white chocolate made with organic cocoa butter & organic cane sugar 🌀 This revamped Gianduja showcases our love for the best responsibly sourced ingredients from around the world! Find it right now in all our NYC shops and look out LA, Gianduja X will be arriving soon! 🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫
