Restaurants add brunch to their menu repertoire seemingly everyday and it is really no big deal. But when that restaurant is 25-years-old and is considered, hands down, to be one of the best places to eat in the city? Worth noting. And so, we'd like to point out that starting on September 3rd Danny Meyer's much-loved Union Square Cafe is adding brunch.

The new menu, which you can see highlights of below, looks pretty much exactly like you would expect a market-fresh restaurant next to the city's biggest Greenmarket to be serving. So think "bacon 'chips' and scrambled egg dip," "homemade gravlax with market salad, pickled beets, bagel chips," and a "vegetable frittata parmigiano," as well as lunch staples like the USC burger. The brunch will be available Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m..

Which is to say, this is yet another reason to dig Union Square Cafe. A good reason, sure, but not quite as good a reason as the fact that this is a restaurant where the staff once made one of the most bizzarre/awesome music video/holiday cards we've ever seen.
