2008_05_strengshare.JPGTonight, the non-profit Share Our Strength is holding its annual Taste of the Nation NYC event at the Roseland Ballroom. Share Our Strength works with community groups, activists and food programs to make sure children don't go hungry, and the NYC chapter's event will benefit City Harvest, the Food Bank for New York City, the NYC Coalition Against Hunger and many other organizations.

Quite a few restaurants are participating--Eleven Madison Park is offering Panna Cotta of Lobster, Garden Peas, and Coconut, while Morimoto is serving Lamb Carpaccio with Ginger, Scallion & Wasabi. Buy tickets, which are partially tax-deductible, here.

Restaurateur David Burke, of davidburke&donatella, told us, "I am honored to be the national spokesperson for the 20th anniversary celebration. As the only national culinary benefit dedicated to ending childhood hunger, Taste of the Nation unites the most creative culinary minds behind a critical issue affecting our country’s children everyday."
