Times Square's Haven Rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel has ditched the bikini angels for snow bunnies, transforming the airy green oasis into a snow-flecked winter wonderland. Opening next Thursday, the space reopens as an alpine ski lodge, covered by a transparent tent for viewing the winter sky and heated by personal fireplaces. They've also built custom chalets where you and your ski team crew can huddle beneath faux-fur throws and imagine you're in exotic Aspen or St. Moritz or Ross Webster's roof in Superman III
Instead of the apres ski burgers and fries most of us are accustomed to, the kitchen turns out dishes like Bouillabaise ($28), Steak Au Poivre ($28) and Mushroom Risotto ($14), should you need to fortify after hitting the slopes braving Times Square. If drinking's what's on your mind, they're doing hot cocktails ($14) like spiked cider, peppermint hot chocolate and caramel Irish coffee. And don't forget the Shot Ski: four shots of Russian Standard Platinum vodka, taken simultaneously atop a ski. Just like they do in the Alps.
For dessert they've got fondue and s'mores kits, served tableside so guests can roast their own marshmallows. With the open flames and hourly snow show blanketing the tent in fresh flakes, it'll almost feel like you really are high up in the Rockies; at least until the bros the next chalet over down one too many Shot Skis.
