Tomorrow, Madison Square Park will smell like the Fourth of July, because the Big Apple Barbecue will start its 10th weekend stand! Pitmasters from all over the country, like Mike Mills of 17th Street Bar & Grill in Illinois and Nevada, Chris Lilly of Big Bob Gibson in Alabama, and our friend Ed Mitchell, of Whole Hog in North Carolina, join NYC-based 'cuemasters (like Kenny Callaghan of Blue Smoke) in dishing up delicious ribs, brisket, pulled pork and much more.

The gluttony begins at 11 a.m. and runs till 6 p.m. on both Saturday (June 9) and Sunday (June 10) and while lines are long, it's no Googa Mooga.

The event is way bigger and offers much more food than its much smaller (but still wonderful) first year. Our suggestion: Go with friends so you can get different things and meet back—or just bring a healthy amount of patience. All barbecue dishes are $8 cash.
