While Bloomberg wages war against obesity by dragging giant sodas to their figurative deaths, West Village residents are readying themselves for five future decades drenched in pancakes and syrup: IHOP just signed a 49-year lease on Carmine St., with plans to officially set up shop this November.

The West Village IHOP will be the city's third location, with another outpost in Harlem and a super bacon-scenty spot in the East Village. No word yet on whether this location will also require a bouncer to keep late-night carb-partiers in check.
