2007_06arts_tjs.jpgAfter a lot of speculation that the Brooklyn Trader Joe's may never happen, Racked reports that it...IS! The good news (for Brooklynites) was posted just moments ago:

Trader Joe's Brooklyn is actually, officially happening! We hear via a very, very reliable tipster that a press conference will be held tomorrow at 10:40am at the Trader Joe's Brooklyn site on Atlantic Avenue and Court Street. The conference, led by Marty Markowitz, is to officially announce that the store is opening. In addition to the conference, they're be a parade of sorts with music from a Brooklyn-based Caribbean steel drum band, because, as our tipster writes, "Trader Joe's is, like, tropical." The parade will start outside Marty's office at 209 Joralemon Street at 10:30 (Marty will be wearing some sort of Hawaiian garb) and will travel to the TJ's site at 130 Court Street, where Marty and a rep from Two Trees will announce the good news.

If this is what they're doing for the announcement, we can't imagine what's in store for opening day. For now, make tomorrow a casual Thursday, get out your tropical garb, and welcome Joe's to the neighborhood...hopefully it won't take them long to move in.
